First insert a new 9V battery by removing the two screws and plate at the bottom of the unit.

Prepare your intercept^CS Cold Sore Prevention System by inserting the Treatment Activator into the intercept^CS Personal Care Device.
As soon as you feel the tingle that signals the onset of a cold sore outbreak, apply the applicator tip of intercept^CS to the site of the tingle.
Deliver 3 thirty second applications of the thermal therapy to the site. The intercept^CS device is designed to monitor this treatment regimen.
