Q: Does intercept^CS really prevent my cold sores?
A: Yes. intercept^CS has been clinically proven and approved for the prevention of cold sore outbreaks.

Q: Are there any side effects of using intercept^CS?
A: No there are no side effects. 

Q: Can I use intercept^CS when I am pregnant or nursing?
A: Yes. The hormonal changes of pregnancy are actually a trigger for cold sore outbreaks. intercept^CS is safe to use during pregnancy and while you are nursing. 

Q: If I use intercept^CS late in the prodromal stage or after I have my cold sore will it work?
A: intercept^CS is effective in preventing cold sores when used in the Prodrome stage (when you feel the itching, tingling feeling that a cold sore is coming) of the cold sore. If used in the Macule (area becomes red) or Papule (small red bumps form) stage, individual users have reported it may shorten the duration and lessen the severity of the cold sore outbreak. Once the cold sore has reached the Vesicle stage (colourless fluid-filled blisters start to develop) intercept^CS is not recommended for use, as there may be a risk that burning may occur. Clinical studies have proven the intercept^CS patented Thermal Defence Technology is a safe and effective means to prevent cold sores, when used as directed in the Prodrome stage.

Q: What happens if the tingle comes back?
A: Every person’s cold sore virus is different.  There are also different severities of the virus.  Some people may need to use two treatment regimens of intercept^CS. If you still feel the tingle, 20 minutes after treatment, it is completely safe to use intercept^CS again.

Q: Can intercept^CS be used after the cold sore has erupted?
A: No. intercept^CS should only be used in the first stages of a cold sore outbreak. Once the cold sore has reached the vesicle stage (fluid-filled blisters), it is too late to use intercept^CS. Make sure to have intercept^CS ready to use during the tingle stage of your next cold sore outbreak.

Q: Can other members of my family use intercept^CS?
A: The cold sore virus is highly contagious.  intercept^CS is a personal device, and we recommend it  be used by only one person.

Q: How is intercept^CS different from other cold sore treatments?
A: Other products simply treat the symptoms or shorten the duration, intercept^CS is the only product that prevents the cold sore from appearing, when used as directed.  

Q: Can I use intercept^CS on Genital Herpes?
A:  intercept^CS is approved for the prevention of cold sores (herpes labialis) only. It is not approved for the prevention of genital herpes blisters.

Q: Can I use intercept^CS on my children?
A: intercept^CS is a safe and side effect free. Children under the age of twelve should use only under the supervision of an adult. intercept^CS is not recommended for children under the age of six.

Q: Can intercept^CS be used with other cold sore treatments?
A: Since the cold sore outbreak will be prevented, you will no longer need other cold sore treatments.

Q:  Will the heat from intercept^CS hurt?
A:  No as long as you don’t press it too hard against the skin..  The precisely controlled temperature and duration of the heat will eliminate your cold sore, but leave your skin and underlying tissue undamaged and pain-free.

Q:  How can I tell if I’m activating my intercept^CS for the proper amount of time?
